I am located in Waterloo, IA and I specialize in Senior Portraits. Some people refer to them as "pictures" but I like to think there is more to them than that.

Welcome Class of '2011! I am way past due on updating the site again. We had an addition to our family in February of last year and time has just slipped by. I am really looking forward to another fun year and getting to know another group of great young adults. This is now my fifth  year of shooting Senior Portraits and I am still doing things a little differently than most photographers. Many of you who are visiting my site know someone who I have taken pictures for and I am sure they told you that, and I hope that is why you are visiting today. Parents of ’11 seniors, last year was a very tough year again. Many of us had to make choices that we had not had to in years past because of our nation’s economy. One of the choices I had to make has to do with my pricing. After lowering my prices 2 years ago when we were all dealing with $4/gallon gas. I have decided that this year I am going to have to raise my prices. The biggest change is the sitting fee. Almost every parent last year told me that I needed to raise my rates… Of course this was after they handed me a check for their order, which always makes me smile. So I have tried to bring them in line with what other photographers are doing locally. And if you haven’t noticed, not many of them will post their prices on their web site. As a general rule when I am buying a piece of camera equipment and the add says, “Call for pricing”, I know I am in for a shock. Again, that is one of the things that makes me a little different I guess.

Yes this is a business I am running but for me it is more of a passion and even though my costs have gone up every year I am trying to make it a little easier on the people that choose me and I am trying to keep my rates low as I can. I do this for the same reason I got into doing senior portraits… Senior pictures are a financial burden to some extent for everyone. Four years ago I was able to save my two sisters money by doing their daughter’s senior pictures by doing something that I love to do; take pictures. I would like to do the same for you.

Also while we are taking your pictures you will not be rushed in and out, and left feeling short changed. If you are willing to spend the time, so am I. I try to always allow extra time with each senior so that we can try different things to make your senior portraits stand out from the crowd. This is your time, it should be special.
